Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Fellow will independently conduct cutting-edgeresearch in bacteriology, antimicrobial resistance, genomics, and bioinformatics. This position offers advanced training in experimental design, data analysis, scientific writing, and grant preparation whilecontributing to high-impact research addressing critical public health challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Ph.D. or equivalent in Microbiology, Immunology, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, or related biomedical sciences (completed within last 5 years or expected before start-date)
• Experience: Experience in antimicrobial resistance, antibacterial drug discovery, genomics, or bacterial immunology.
• Demonstrated expertise in bacterial genomics, in vitro and in vivo antibacterial studies, and experimental design
• Strong publication record with peer-reviewed articles in internationally recognized journals
• Proven ability to design, implement, and analyze advanced research studies independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex scientific findings into practical applications
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary or translational research approaches
Preferred Qualifications
• Education: Master's degree (PhD, EdD, or related) preferred.
• Experience: Hands-on experience in BSL-2/BSL-3 facilities; laboratory animal handling; working with multidrug-resistant pathogens and biofilms.
• Experience with genomics data preparation and analysis; proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, Perl); machine learning/AI applications.
• Experience with CRISPR techniques; microbiome experiments and analysis; advanced statistical analysis and data visualization.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead design, development, and execution of complex research studies in bacteriology, antimicrobial resistance, genomics, and bioinformatics.
• Develop and refine experimental protocols and methodologies; conduct in vitro/in vivo antibacterial studies in BSL-2/BSL-3 facilities.
• Analyze and interpret data using advanced statistical methods, bioinformatics tools, and
computational approaches, including programming languages and machine learning.
• Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals; present findings at conferences; prepare reports and technical documentation.
• Mentor graduate students, undergraduate researchers, and laboratory staff; provide training on
techniques, protocols, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams; contribute to grant writing and funding proposals under PI supervision.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Comprehensive knowledge of microbiological principles, antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, and bacterial genomics.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, sequencing, gene expression analysis).
• Strong understanding of experimental design, statistical analysis, and scientific research methodology.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills; ability to prepare manuscripts, grants, and technical reports.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in team environments.
• Strong mentorship capabilities; critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; commitment to scientific integrity.
