As an Accounting Student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and talented professionals and take part in interesting and challenging work assignments in one of the following areas: Accounts Payable, Vendor & Joint Venture Audit, Financial Accounting, Royalty Accounting, Operations Accounting, or Property Accounting. Our company culture fosters a fun working environment, development of meaningful relationships and continuous learning. Building on classroom studies, you will develop and enhance your skills while working with mentors to 'kick-start' a successful career in accounting!

  • Job location: Calgary, AB - Head Office
  • Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday - Friday)
  • Multiple term starts and lengths: 
    • January 2027 - 8 months
    • May 2027 - 4, 8, or 12 months 
    • September 2027 - 8 or 12 months
  • Safety sensitive position: No 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Process capital, revenue, royalty and expense amounts within the terms of governing agreements
  • Prepare reports, journal entries and statements of accounts
  • Reconcile and analyze various general ledger accounts
  • Set up and manage several oil and gas properties and their transaction files
  • Gather, research, review, vouch, enter and confirm data accuracy
  • Clarify, investigate and respond to queries and disputes from partners and internal departments
  • Process audit queries from outside partners and internal audit
  • Contribute to project work

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Currently enrolled in your 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate degree program in Accounting, with a commitment to a career in Accounting
  • Attention to detail is critical, as are strong analytical skills with a strong work ethic and effective communication skills
  • Familiarity with and understanding of:
    • Accounting concepts and principles
    • Research strategies and analytical thinking
    • Microsoft Excel
