Job description

Acuren Group is actively seeking an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support our Engineering Department.

This role will be based within our Calgary engineering team and will involve a variety of tasks related to pipeline integrity management. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the development of Pipeline Integrity Management Programs, completion of engineering assessments, and conducting pipeline risk evaluations.

In addition, this position will provide technical guidance and support to clients on a range of engineering matters.


  • Create and manage client Pipeline Integrity Management Programs
  • Perform and support engineering assessments for pipelines, pipeline systems, and other assets as needed
  • Complete and support pipeline risk assessments
  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency plans for clients
  • Support clients through regulatory audits and inspections
  • Generate proposals and scopes of work
  • Keep current with technical developments and innovations for integrity related business services
  • Provide technical support and leadership for clients and maintain existing client relationships while growing the business

  • A post-secondary degree from a recognized institution (Materials or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Understanding of code and regulatory requirements related to pipelines such as CSA Z662, CER, AER, BCER, etc. would be an asset
  • Field operation experience is an asset
  • Industry knowledge of oil and gas industry practices and terminology
  • Ability to manage large amounts of data effectively
  • Ability to translate knowledge into practical solutions 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively respond to different levels of understanding, and produce professional reports
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs
  • Driver license, Class 5 (clean record) required.
