Job description

The Information Technology Associate (ITA) will be responsible for the network support operations of the Department, with entry level experience, for the maintenance and operations of the California Highway Patrol's (CHP) statewide reporting system, CalCrash. The ITA will gain experience in network implementation, wide area network configurations, security best practices, cloud network functionality, and an understanding of the complexities involved in managing diverse systems. The CHP network infrastructure supports an environment of 20,000 endpoint devices, over 250 physical locations, and 25 911 dispatch centers that operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year.
This limited-term position may be extended up to a maximum of 24 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Working Conditions
Monday through Friday, 0800-1700 hours. Some travel will be required. The Information Technology Associate may need to work outside of normally scheduled hours.
