Job description

Joint C2 Systems Administrator  - Secret Clearance Required

Location: Hurlburt Field, FL
Job Type: Full-Time
Clearance: Active U.S. Secret Clearance (Required - cannot be waived)


Position Overview

This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking an experienced System Administrator with a strong background in Department of Defense (DoD) environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting mission-critical systems related to cyber operations, mission command, and joint air-ground operations.

You will play a key role in supporting and maintaining DoD command and control (C2) systems used in intelligence, targeting, planning, and operational execution.

Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance prior to start and obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) within 90 days if not already certified.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide systems administration support for DoD command and control systems
  • Install, configure, patch, and maintain software, including IAVAs
  • Monitor system performance and review logs to proactively identify issues
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault isolation, and system recovery
  • Execute system backups and data recovery operations
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and checklists
  • Support and maintain a DoD training lab environment
  • Assist with access control and security compliance requirements
  • Serve as backup support for facility and lab management
  • Mentor and assist junior personnel

Required Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (required before start)
  • CompTIA Security+ (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
  • Strong knowledge of DoD systems administration practices and procedures
  • Experience with:
    • Windows 10 and Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019 or later)
    • Applying DISA STIGs and security configurations
    • Installing patches and IAVAs
    • System log analysis and documentation
  • Ability to:
    • Configure Army Mission Command Systems in joint environments
    • Support or administer Battle Command Common Services Server (BCCS)
    • Work with enterprise server hardware (e.g., Dell R-series or similar)

Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with Army and Air Force systems, including:
    • AFATDS, TAIS, DCGS-A, GCCS-A, CPCE, AMDWS
    • TBMCS, GCCS-J
  • Understanding of joint communications planning at the operational level
  • Experience with Common Operational Picture (COP) / Common Tactical Picture (CTP)

Desired Certifications
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
  • VMware vSphere
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Linux certifications or experience
