Job Description

Responsibilities:

Communicate and co-ordinate with clients on technical aspects.

Troubleshoot complex project-issues

Own application design, development, testing & support tasks/activities

Establish and publish clear priorities among project activities to the team

Attend project meetings & work with other groups/departments

Drive team building and on boarding efforts via mentoring

Strengthen client's confidence in Saama and Saama's ability to deliver

Provide scalable solutions for handling large data volumes and complex reporting

Requirement:

Mandatory Experience in Cognos 10.2

Strong experience in Software Development/Engineering with 3 years as sr consultant or team leading

Installation of releases of Cognos Application servers (both 32 bit and 64 bit installs)

Installation and configuration of Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, Metric Studio, Cognos ReportNet and analysis tools such Cognos Transformer

Patching, Upgrade, Migration of Cognos Application servers

Maintain the integrity, security, performance and availability of Cognos environments

High availability and Disaster recovery - installation and configuration at Application server layer

Install, upgrade, patch, configure, troubleshoot and administer a variety of 3rd party vendor tools

Performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements

Monitor Application servers for compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines and procedures

Provide capacity analysis reports/data and recommendations for improvements

Responsible for application server backup/recovery, performance analysis and tuning, and monitoring

Advanced troubleshooting (ability to think outside of box) and advanced shell scripting for all databases involving Oracle, SQL Server

Installation and security implementationย 

Configuration and maintenanceย 

Patching, cloning, troubleshooting application errors/issues, App and SQL tuning, advanced troubleshooting (ability to think outside of box) for Cognos tools

May lead the work of others or provide guidance to entry level roles

This position is full-time and will require after hours and on-call support and weekend maintenance
