Field Service Technician / Inmate Site Administrator

Location: Yuma AZ

Job Type: Part-Time

Hours: M-F 8am-12pm

General Description

We are a rapidly growing telecommunications company seeking a Field Service Technician / Inmate Site Administrator to support operations at the Yuma County AZ Jail. This role combines hands-on technical field service work with on-site device administration and support within a correctional facility.

The position is responsible for maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting telecommunications and low-voltage equipment, as well as managing inmate handheld devices, site inventory, and basic network functionality. The ideal candidate is technically capable, dependable, customer-service oriented, and comfortable working in a correctional environment.

Work Schedule / Site Assignment

This position will serve as the primary on-site administrator at Yuma County Jail (Arizona) on Monday through Friday 8am to 12pm.

Essential Functions

The duties listed below are representative and may not include all responsibilities:

Field Service amp; Technical Support

· Perform MACs (moves, adds, and changes) and service telecommunications equipment.

· Install, terminate, and maintain low-voltage wiring (CAT5/CAT6) in accordance with industry best practices.

· Install and service telecommunications equipment, inmate phones, view units, charging stations, and networking devices.

· Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.

· Maintain and monitor Wi-Fi networks to ensure adequate coverage throughout all cells and pods.

· Ship defective equipment to the home office and document replacements.

· Use minor computer networking and PC skills (MS Windows and Office).

Inmate Site Administration at Yuma County AZ

· Assign, unassign, and charge inmate handheld devices.

· Maintain accurate inventory records of all devices and equipment.

· Pull reports for the facility using proprietary company software.

· Troubleshoot handheld device issues and coordinate returns or replacements.

· Train facility staff and users on product functionality and features as needed.

Skills amp; Abilities

· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to train users on systems and device functionality.

· Quick learner of proprietary systems and processes.

· Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple service requests.

· Comfortable working independently and on-site at a correctional facility.

· Basic computer skills; experience with iOS/iPads/iPods preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

· Minimum of two (2) years’ experience installing, maintaining, or repairing telecommunications, video, cable, data, or voice equipment preferred.

· Entry-level candidates with strong technical aptitude may be considered.

Requirements:

· Must be comfortable working inside a correctional facility.

· Must pass a background check and maintain facility clearance.

· Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

· No felony convictions.

· Must be punctual, dependable, and able to meet required deadlines.

· Authorized to work in the United States.

· Travel as needed

· Exposure to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.

· Regular walking on cement floors.
