Job description

An Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer job in Cincinnati, Ohio is currently available through Belcan at one of our key aerospace clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Job Duties:
* Participate in the entire design cycle of mechanical subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, development testing and qualification
* Perform engineering calculations to validate component and system design (free body diagrams, structural analysis, vibration analysis, flow analysis, and heat transfer analysis)
* Participate in the life cycle engineering of turbomachinery components
* Provide engineering support during the manufacturing process and supporting fielded hardware
* Review manufacturing drawings to ensure form, fit and function
* Perform tolerance stacks and analysis in accordance with ASME Y14.5 2009
* Work within a team environment to achieve the desired project goals and ensure the project tasks are completed on time, on budget, and with technical excellence
* Create technical documentation in support of the development and testing of flight hardware
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar
* Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience designing mechanical systems
* Solid understanding of the fundamentals of turbomachinery
* Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 2009
* Working knowledge of design cycle, conception to production, for components or systems
* Experience using finite element analysis (FEA) or other engineering simulation software
* Proficient in 3D CAD, utilizing Siemens NX
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $65,000 to $75,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
