Job description

Job Title: Sleep Technician Trainee (CPSGT Track) – Night Shift
Location: Sleep Disorders Center of Louisiana (SDC) Lake Charles Location
Schedule: Overnight shifts


Overview
We are hiring and training entry-level Sleep Technicians to run in-lab sleep studies. This role follows a structured pathway to become a Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) and ultimately a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).

No prior sleep experience required — we will train the right candidate.


What You’ll Do

  • Set up and monitor patients during overnight sleep studies
  • Apply sensors and ensure high-quality data collection
  • Observe and document sleep activity
  • Work under supervision of a licensed technologist
  • Learn sleep medicine through hands-on training

Training & Career Path

  • Louisiana Sleep Technician Permit (12 months)
  • CPSGT eligibility within ~3 months (~400+ hours)
  • Progression to RPSGT (advanced certification)

Compensation

  • Starting pay: $17–$20/hr+ night shift differential ($2–$4/hr)
  • Increase to $22–$25/hr upon CPSGT certification
  • Growth to $28–$34/hr as an RPSGT
  • Certification bonuses available

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Healthcare experience preferred (CNA, MA, RT, etc.)
