We offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K with company matching, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, three weeks paid time off, and more.

We are seeking a motivated and professional Administrative Assistant to provide front-line administrative support for the Naval Research Laboratory. • Receive, sort, and route incoming mail, packages, and deliveries to appropriate personnel
  • Schedule and manage conference room reservations, coordinating logistics and preparation for meetings, including setup, materials, and any required technology support
  • Record and transcribe accurate meeting minutes for designated meetings as required, ensuring timely distribution to stakeholders
  • Draft, format, proof, and review official correspondence in strict accordance with the Navy Correspondence Manual and applicable directives
  • Maintain organized filing systems and support records management activities in compliance with applicable policies
  • Support staff with general administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
  • Ensure front desk and common areas reflect a professional and organized environment at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting staff at a major corporation, government agency, or military command
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with personnel at all levels, as well as external visitors and stakeholders
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to compose clear, professional correspondence and documentation
  • Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluency with Microsoft Windows and the full Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Must be eligible to qualify for a Common Access Card issuance and associated IT system access
  • Must comply with all DoD, DoN, NAMRU-D, cybersecurity, and OPSEC requirements and policies

Clearance Requirements:

  • Secret security clearance is required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate's degree or coursework in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant administrative experience will be considered

Desired Attributes:

  • Familiarity with Navy or DoD administrative procedures, correspondence standards, and records management practices
  • Professional demeanor with a customer-service-oriented approach to front desk operations
