Job description

Our nationally recognized Best Practices insurance brokerage is looking to add a Commercial Relationship Manager to our team.

***NOTE: This is not an entry-level position. If you don't have at least one year of experience in an insurance agency, please don't apply for this role.***

This role is a full-time W-2 non-exempt, hybrid environment role. The compensation is a base salary plus a commission split on both new business AND renewals.

Purpose

Cultivate and actively manage the client relationship beginning with the initial sales process and continuing throughout the client lifecycle.

Routine Decision Making

Team members are empowered to make decisions and act on all service requests, policy changes and cross sell opportunities.

Supervisory Responsibility

None. Reports to Vice President of Sales with dotted line to CEO.

Responsibilities
  • Proactive action in managing CRM pipeline
  • Identify required services
  • Capture notes
  • Know policies and code correctly
  • Read departmental emails to learn account history
  • Inbound/Outbound calls
  • Identify training opportunities
  • Use critical thinking when evaluating inbox, policies, and requests
  • Assist Risk Advisor in performing sales workflow
  • Update pipeline with notes and accurate status
  • Perform renewal workflows and actively manage the Renewal Pipeline
  • Account Management
    • Draft and send proposals as part of the Sales Workflow
    • Work the Account Submission Workflow in coordination with Risk Advisor
    • Communicate with prospects and clients as needed
    • Ensure a โ€œcomplete submissionโ€ is ready for all accounts

      • Loss Runs or No Known Loss Letter
      • Supplemental application
    • Communicate with underwriters in coordination with Risk Advisor
  • Service
    • Generate policy proofs as needed
    • Endorsements
    • Inspection forms and documents
    • Audit Tracking tool

    • Premium financing setup
    • Monitor Accounts Payable status to ensure prompt receipt of payments
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education
  • Knowledge
    Prior insurance agency experience of 1-3 years is required. Prior experience in a public-facing CSR type of role is a positive.
  • Skills/Abilities
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Formal Education
    Active license at General Lines Insurance Agent with Texas Dept of Insurance. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
