Location: 610 Valley Health Plaza, Paramus NJ
On-site FT 40: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Job Summary:
As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will work underneath the office manager and with a team to provide administrative and clerical support to management, departments, staff, and clients. In this entry-level role, you will have the benefit of working face-to-face with our clients and linking them to services to help them in their journey. Additionally, you will gain operational knowledge of a Non-profit and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in your work with our various departments, prescribers, mental health and substance use providers.
What You Will Do:
  • Serve as greeter for walk-ins or scheduled face-to-face or telehealth appointments
  • Verify, review, and update demographic and insurance information in the agency electronic health record
  • General knowledge of all insurance benefits and coverage, as well as Patient Verification Systems - Evolv NX, MyAbility, Navinet, NJMMIS is a plus.
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility.
  • Upload benefits in the agency Electronic Health Record
  • Collect payment at the time of service and/or collect past balances from the client, virtually or in-person.
  • Answer the telephone and provide routine information. Assist clients (over the phone and in-person) by communicating in a positive, friendly and professional manner.
  • Schedule appointments, conduct appointment confirmations/reminders.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
What We Are Looking For:
  • High School diploma (HSD) or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 6 months to two years receptionist experience in the medical or mental health field
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred
  • Medical insurance verification experience required
  • Valid Driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance.
