The Positionย 

Our client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Underwriter/Operations Supervisor role located in the greater Memphis, TN market. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Bank's strategic objectives as they relate to real estate mortgage products and services. This includes customer experience, efficient processes, process improvements, vendor management, trend reporting, and team development.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $110K and an excellent benefits package. Relocation support is also available. ย (This position is not remote)

Mortgage Underwriter/Operations Supervisor responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day loan production activities of first and second mortgages and departmental oversight, including vendor management, internal control and process monitoring, and quality checks.
  • Maintaining key reporting data as it relates to real estate lending, including but not limited to, daily production, exception and error reporting, quality control, budgeting, and trend analysis.
  • Maintaining approval limits and monitoring the quality of underwriting decisions for loan officers. Acting as a loan officer for policy exceptions, second opinions, and employee loans.
  • Functioning as a business lead and/or project manager on departmental and/or organization-wide projects. Contributing expertise in his/her assigned area, executes deliverables and ensures that the Project Team completes project deliverables as outlined based on the project scope and business requirements.
  • Managing, coaching, motivating, and developing the Team Lead and other department staff, including ongoing in-house and outside educational opportunities. Establishing goals and setting direction for the real estate lending department.ย  Identifies and implements workflow efficiencies to provide a superior member experience.ย ย 
  • Identifying and managing vendor relationships and products. Periodic review of vendor relationships to ensure cost effectiveness and product/service value.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

  • Loan Closing experience is preferred.
  • DE {Direct Endorsement Underwriter} required.
  • Preferred knowledge of Jack Henry & Symitar.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Strong decision-making and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/duties.ย 
  • Results-driven, service-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.ย 
  • Strong communication and mentorship skills.
  • Current with Investor and Regulatory Guidelines.
