Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Matheson is seeking a motivated Junior Process Engineer to join our fast-paced engineering team in our CO2 and dry ice division. Safety is our number one goal. This requires that you embrace the safety first concept. The role requires a good understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow and chemical exchange associated with the refinery processes. This is an entry-level position where the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of LCO2 refinery equipment. Additional responsibilities will be to monitor the manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and efficiency, analyze data to identify areas of improvement and implement changes to drive improvement.



Essential Functions

Essential Function

1. Assist with review of various deliverables such as process flow diagrams, P&IDs, process data sheets, equipment specifications, AutoCAD drawings, cause and effect diagrams, standard operating procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, HAZOP, and maintenance manuals.

2. Learn to analyze LCO2 process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput. Develop action plans and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
3. Apply statistical methods and perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
5. Assist with the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of process equipment.
7. Maintain reliable and safe process systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
8. Provide operational and technical support to team members and management.

9. Develop a proficiency in the LCO2 refinery processes.
