Operations Support Specialist I (Mail Screening Technician)

SoBran is seeking an entry-level Operations Support Specialist I (Mail Screening Technician) to support a controlled access mail screening facility in Washington, D.C. This role is part of a multi-functional security operations team responsible for the receiving, sorting, screening, and inspection of incoming mail and parcels in a secure environment. This is a hands-on, entry-level position designed to provide full training in mail screening procedures, logistics support, and secure facility operations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Receive, sort, and process incoming mail, parcels, and flats
  • Perform mail and package screening for potential contaminants or suspicious materials
  • Conduct visual inspections for unusual substances, stains, or security concerns
  • Operate X-ray screening equipment following established procedures and protocols
  • Maintain accurate accountability of incoming and outgoing materials
  • Support warehouse and logistics operations, including sorting and staging mail
  • Perform general housekeeping and facility support duties as required
  • Follow all security, safety, and controlled-access facility procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs for 25 yards
  • Ability to multi-task in a structured, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to complete and maintain required annual training certifications
