Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities:
  • Accurately enter, review, validate and maintain data in spreadsheets, databases, or business systems, while meeting and exceeding established production, quality, and confidentiality standards. This includes claim entry, group or individual enrollment transactions and invoices.
  • Maintain electronic and paper records in accordance with department standards. Keep an organized system for tracking and retaining documentation related to data entry tasks, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Review and validate information to identify discrepancies, ensure accuracy, and maintain data integrity.
  • Assist with maintaining, updating, and organizing procedures, job aids, and operational documentation.
  • Provide back-up support to the Operations and Mailroom teams.
  • Monitor shared mailboxes and email inboxes, ensuring timely responses, effective information routing, and follow-through on requests.
  • Serve as a resource for conference room technology support and meeting setup as needed, including operation and basic troubleshooting of computers, Teams room consoles, presentation sharing, and other meeting equipment. Assist with meeting preparation, as needed.
  • Order and coordinate corporate or team lunches for scheduled lunch meetings.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, colleagues, and other key stakeholders to support team collaboration and service excellence.
  • Communicate workflow concerns and improvement opportunities to the team leader and support implementation of approved process changes.
  • Support special projects by gathering information and completing assigned administrative tasks.
  • Take ownership of special assignments, delivering results on time while maintaining high standards of quality and thoroughness. Exhibit a high level of dependability in all aspects of the role.
  • Apply critical thinking and continuous improvement principles to identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Represent Delta Dental of Iowa as well as the other Delta Dental companies in a professional manner both internally and externally.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality. Adherence to all HIPAA laws is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational skills.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to interpret and apply written procedures and work instructions consistently and accurately.
  6. Demonstrated learning ability to quickly adapt to new systems, technologies and business processes.

  1. Advanced PC skills including the ability to troubleshoot common problems and navigate the internet/web services.
  2. Experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
  3. Experience working in an administrative, clerical, insurance, healthcare, or customer service environment.
