Job description

Occupational Therapist I-Per Diem

We're hiring an Occupational Therapist I who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on patients and their families. In this role, you'll provide compassionate, high-quality care through evaluations, personalized treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions, all while supporting the mission and standards of City of Hope National Medical Center.

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Demonstrates entry level skills in developing treatment goals and plans based on evaluation data, rehabilitation potential, discharge plans, and in coordination with goals and plans of patient, family and other care team members. 

  • Completes evaluations, progress notes, reassessments, discharge summaries, and third-party reimbursement reports per established departmental, institutional and regulatory requirements within required time frames.

  • Follows all City of Hope and departmental policies. 

  • Collaborates with physician and other healthcare professionals to ensure ongoing integrated patient care. 

  • Assigns treatments to occupational therapy aides and occupational therapist assistants.  Assesses quality of care provided. 

  • Acts as a preceptor to occupational therapy and occupational therapist assistant students after working at least one year in current position.

  • Participation in case conferences and discharge planning activities.

  • Coordination with a CCS case manager for referral to a CCS-paneled provider or CCS MTU for the patient who may continue to require occupational therapy services after hospital discharge.

Your qualifications should include: 

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school        

  • Entry level position, no experience required    

  • Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of California, or licensed applicant status in the state of California

  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association

  • For pediatric service, CCS Panel provider or complete application within 60 days of hire or when hours attained

Additional Information:

  • Hourly Per Diem Rate: $58.80
