Description
The Associate Attorney will support the firm's legal practice through legal research, case analysis, drafting legal documents, client communication, and representation in legal proceedings as appropriate. This role provides an excellent opportunity for early-career attorneys to gain hands-on experience, develop advocacy and case management skills, and work collaboratively within a fast-paced legal environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review legal files, records, and case-related documentation
  • Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and analyze applicable statutes, case law, and regulations
  • Manage assigned caseload while ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely completion of work
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and court proceedings as required
  • Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and status updates within firm systems
  • Provide high-quality legal support and client service in a high-volume environment
  • Exercise sound judgment and contribute to effective problem-solving and case strategy

Position Requirements
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • 0-3 years of legal experience preferred
  • Licensed and in good standing with the applicable State Bar
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms, including client systems, email, and telephone
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and exceptional client service
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities, and multitask
  • Reliable, conscientious, and accountable with respect to work quality, attendance, and deadlines

Work Location: This position is based in the Raleigh and/or Wilmington, North Carolina area. Candidates located in or willing to work within either market are encouraged to apply.
