Healix Infusion Therapy is seeking a full-timeย Medical Administrative Assistant to work alongside our nursing and team in aย Rheumatology physicians practice setting in Houston, TX!

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting patients and their caregivers during each visit to the clinic for infusion therapy treatments. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MA who thrives working in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
  • Calling patients back for appointments and follow-up
  • Assisting clinical staff as needed
  • Ordering supplies and helping maintain inventory
  • General clinic workflow support

Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma and some college hours in related courses, recent related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years experience in medical office setting with front office duties
  • Prior experience with verifications and reimbursements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in an office-based setting
  • Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Microsoft Office, EMR, and other medical software experience preferred. Epic experience is a plus, as that is the system UT utilizes.
  • Must have experience in a clinical/physician office setting. Experience limited to nursing home or long-term care settings would not be ideal, as this is a fast-paced outpatient environment

License and Certifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
  • Possess valid basic life support (BLS) OR ACLS certificationย preferred.
