Job Description

This role focuses on performing mechanical assembly and maintenance on large generators in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will use a variety of hand and power tools, follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures, and support repair activities. Over time, you will learn manufacturer-specific software to diagnose engine and control system issues, contributing to the reliability and performance of complex power generation equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly on large generators according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently during assembly and repair tasks.
  • Read, interpret, and follow work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and blueprints or engineering drawings as needed.
  • Conduct maintenance repairs on generators, including disassembly, replacement of components, and reassembly.
  • Operate overhead cranes to move and position heavy components and assemblies in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Use measuring tools such as tape measures and torque wrenches to verify dimensions and torque specifications.
  • Learn and apply manufacturer-specific software to diagnose engine and control system problems.
  • Inspect assembled and repaired units to ensure proper function and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality objectives.
