About this role
We are seeking a motivated entry-level Electrical Technician to join our Electrical Department. You'll work in the fast-growing data center and bitcoin industry, supporting the acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low and medium voltage power systems. Under the guidance of senior technicians and engineers, you'll focus on safety, accurate data collection, and timely reporting. This is a fully on-site role based out of our Paducah, KY Facility.
What you'll be doing
  • Set up and operate electrical test equipment, ensuring all tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Perform testing and maintenance on low and medium voltage electrical equipment following industry standards (NETA, NFPA, OSHA, NEC, IEEE) and company procedures.
  • Conduct and document testing for switchgear and circuit breakers, protection and control systems, transformers, cables and grounding systems, and facility systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams to plan testing and identify system configurations.
  • Follow all safety procedures including pre-job planning, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and proper permitting.
  • Inspect equipment, address minor repairs, escalate issues as needed, and maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, clean work environment.
  • Support commissioning activities such as factory/site acceptance testing, system checks, and energization, while accurately recording results and completing reports using required software and internal processes.
  • Coordinate with teams, contractors, and customers to schedule work and provide updates.

What you'll have
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical trade school or Associate's degree in Electrical Technology preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in electrical testing, maintenance, or a related field and foundational understanding of AC/DC theory and power systems.
  • Basic electrical knowledge, with ability to read one-line diagrams and schematics, follow written test procedures, and maintain strong documentation practices.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, LOTO, and safe grounding practices, with ability to successfully complete required safety trainings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and ability to learn tools such as Power DB, RTS, AVTS, or similar platforms.
  • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, reliability, safety-focused mindset, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Preferred: OSHA 10/30 and First Aid/CPR certifications; experience with Omicron, Doble, Megger, or ETI test equipment; CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP); and datacenter, substation, or industrial plant experience.
  • Willingness to pursue NICET Electrical Power Testing certification (Level I/II) and complete company-provided training.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and meet customer site access and badging requirements.

Physical requirements and work environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (50 pounds)
  • Ability to work onsite in a mining or data center environment (heat, noise, etc.)
  • Exposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures
