Job description

**POSITION IS REMOTE, OR HYBRID IN VENTURA, CA**

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maximo Project Manager provides leadership and oversight for IBM Maximo-related projects and operational efforts supporting Department of Defense and U.S. Navy customers. This role is responsible for managing project schedules, resources, customer coordination, operational support, modernization initiatives, and sustainment activities associated with the Maximo application environment.

The Maximo Project Manager works closely with the Program Manager, Technical Program Manager, Maximo Solutions Architect, developers, system administrators, and customer stakeholders to coordinate project execution, manage risk, oversee staffing and priorities, and ensure successful delivery of Maximo-related efforts. While the Maximo Solutions Architect leads technical solution design and implementation, the Maximo Project Manager focuses on project execution, customer engagement, resource management, operational coordination, and compliance activities.

This role also provides leadership and oversight to assigned project personnel supporting Maximo-related efforts, including workload coordination, mentoring, performance feedback, and operational management.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisors and the contract Program Manager, staying focused on assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary project manager for all IBM Maximo-related efforts
  • Manage project schedules, staffing plans, priorities, deliverables, budgets, and customer expectations
  • Coordinate sustainment, modernization, enhancement, integration, upgrade, migration, and operational support activities
  • Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies
  • Track and report project status, milestones, resource utilization, and operational metrics
  • Support contract execution activities including reporting, RMF coordination, compliance tracking, and customer communications
  • Facilitate meetings, project reviews, technical status updates, and customer briefings
  • Coordinate with the Maximo Solutions Architect to align project execution with technical implementation strategies
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, risk registers, action trackers, SOPs, and operational documentation
  • Coordinate release planning, change management, deployment activities, and operational readiness efforts
  • Support incident management, escalation activities, outage communications, and operational reporting
  • Monitor customer feedback and operational metrics to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements
  • Provide supervision and leadership to assigned project personnel, administrators, analysts, and support staff
  • Assign tasks, monitor workload distribution, and ensure activities are completed in accordance with priorities and schedules
  • Mentor and develop team members while promoting collaboration and accountability across project teams

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic:

โ— Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, or related field.

โ— Experience: 2โ€“4 years of Government program experience, preferably supporting Department of Defense or Navy customers.

โ— Desired Skills:

โ—‹ Experience managing enterprise application projects and cross-functional teams

โ—‹ Strong project management, organizational, scheduling, and coordination skills

โ—‹ Functional understanding of IBM Maximo application environments and enterprise asset management operations

โ—‹ Experience supporting software sustainment, modernization, integration, or operational support initiatives

โ—‹ Leadership and supervisory experience in a project or operational environment

โ—‹ Strong verbal and written communication skills

โ— Certification: Security+ certification.

โ— Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred:

โ— 5+ years supporting IBM Maximo Asset Management environments

โ— Experience supporting Department of Defense or Navy enterprise systems

โ— PMP Certification preferred

โ— Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, ITIL, or hybrid project management methodologies

โ— Experience supporting RMF, cybersecurity compliance, and enterprise sustainment efforts

โ— Familiarity with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), enterprise integrations, and Maximo operational workflows
