The PR Coordinator will support the PR & Communications function with a primary focus on earned media tracking, reporting, and competitive monitoring. This is an entry-level role ideal for a candidate 1-2 years out of school who is organized, detail-oriented, analytically minded, and interested in building a career in public relations. This person will play an important role in helping the team monitor coverage, track performance, and deliver clear, timely reporting on brand, industry, park, and competitor activity. A core responsibility of the role will be working with Cision and producing daily, weekly, and monthly earned media and social coverage reports. Additional responsibilities will include compiling and maintaining media lists, updating newsroom sites, developing and maintaining a photo and video library.
What you get to do:
  • Manage day-to-day use of Cision for media monitoring, coverage tracking, alerts, and reporting.
  • Develop and distribute daily earned media roundups highlighting relevant company, park, industry, and competitor coverage.
  • Build weekly and monthly PR reports summarizing media performance, key storylines, notable placements, and emerging issues.
  • Track and report on earned media impressions, sentiment, share of voice, volume of coverage, and key message pull-through.
  • Monitor social coverage and online conversation related to the company, its parks, key campaigns, and competitive set.
  • Prepare recurring reports that combine earned media and social listening insights into clear, executive-friendly summaries.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of the parks industry, travel and leisure space, attractions competitors, and other relevant brands to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Maintain organized image and video library, newsroom sites, media coverage archives, dashboards, and reporting templates.
  • Support the PR team with media list updates, research, briefing materials, and general coordination needs.
  • Flag timely or sensitive coverage to the VP, PR & Communications and broader team as needed.
  • Help ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and delivered on schedule.

What it takes to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in PR, communications, media monitoring, social listening, or agency/account coordination.
  • Strong interest in public relations and earned media.
  • Experience with or exposure to Cision, Meltwater, Brandwatch, or similar monitoring/reporting tools preferred.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with data, pulling insights, and translating results into concise reporting.
