STARTING SALARY: $14.62 - 16.08 per hour
POSITION: Library Aide I • Part Time
POSITION NO: 5.108
DEPT: Leisure Services - Library
This is an entry-level position which follows well established policies and procedures. An employee in this position is responsible for performing tasks which require no previous training or special knowledge of library procedures other than computer and Internet skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Adequate knowledge of alphabetical and numerical filing.
  • Ability to read numbers and letters rapidly and accurately.
  • Ability to learn assigned tasks readily.
  • Ability to perform simple typing tasks.
  • Ability to locate information via catalog and Internet.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and follow simple verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver items weighing up to 30 pounds; stand, bend, reach, lift, sit, and walk for extended periods.
Training, Certification, and Experience
  • Completion of one year of High School, preferred.
Special Requirements
  • Minimum age, 16 years old.
  • Valid Florida driver's license or State ID.
  • Schedule may include nights and weekends.
