We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Litigation Legal Assistant to join our growing legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a Paralegal Certificate who is looking to begin a career in civil litigation. The successful candidate will support attorneys and paralegals throughout all phases of the litigation process while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal environment. This entry level position will work closely with an experienced legal assistant for 3-6 months learning civil litigation and eventually succeed a retiring legal assistant. There will be advancement opportunities to a paralegal role for a candidate that is successful in a legal assistant role.


Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with the preparation, filing, and service of legal documents.
  • Draft routine correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Organize, maintain, and update physical and electronic case files.
  • Monitor case deadlines and maintain attorney calendars.
  • E-file documents with state and federal courts.
  • Coordinate service of process and obtain court records.
  • Schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, and client appointments.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third-party vendors.
  • Review incoming mail and correspondence and route to appropriate team members.
  • Assist with document production, discovery organization, and trial preparation.
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties as needed.
