Job description

The Entry Level Legal Assistant role provides our new hires with the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in our bankruptcy practice area, as well as demonstrate their ability to meet performance standards. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, have excellent service orientation and communication skills, and pay strong attention to detail.

This is an in-office role located at our headquarter location in Boca Raton, Florida.

Responsibilities

*Work within the firm's Bankruptcy Department under the general supervision of the Paralegal Supervisor and department attorneys

  • File Proof of Claims throughout multiple jurisdictions nationwide
  • Prepare certificate of service and additional documents as needed
  • Communicate with team, supervisors, and clients through phone and email
  • Must be a team player willing to assist throughout the department
  • Willing to take on new tasks, adapt to new challenges, and engage in ongoing training

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a law firm or legal environment. Previous experience working in the bankruptcy field is a plus
  • Working knowledge of PACER, NextGen, and/or CM/ECF system
  • Key skills include: critical thinking, attention to detail, effective communication, and strong sense of teamwork
  • Strong problem solving skills and enjoys working with numbers
  • Ability to manage a high volume of files and prioritize workload appropriately

Required Education and Training

  • Associates Degree strongly preferred or equivalent work experience
  • High school or equivalent required
  • Basic principles of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control strongly preferred
