Job description

An international Food Distributor in Los Angeles is looking for Accounts Receivable Specialist.

  • Direct Hire with Great Benefit: Medical, Dental, Vision, life insurance: 100% covered by company, Paid Holiday, Sick Leave, Vacation, 401K, Annual Bonus, and Profit Sharing.
  • Pay: $31/hr

Requirements of the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

  • Solid understanding and experience of the full AR cycle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs etc.) required.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams including nationwide customer’s sales team and branches AR team
  • Open to adopting new technologies and process improvements
  • Preferably Power BI skills for data analysis and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Dependable work ethic with leadership skills
  • Organized and thorough.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

  • Serve as a D365 central point of coordination for nationwide customer’s payment information and distribute to branches in a timely and accurate manner
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies with sales representatives and supporting branch teams, including retrieving EDI related information and obtaining POD documents from 3 PL portals.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation between cash receipts and amounts applied by branches for nationwide customers to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Monitor unapplied or missed transactions and ensure all payments are properly applied by month end
  • Support branches in processing deductions by nationwide customers efficiently including gathering backup and facilitating resolution
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with branch teams to ensure smooth AR operations, primarily for nationwide customers
  • Identify process gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening AR processes and performance
  • Demonstrate a proactive mindset by leveraging new technologies and continuously enhancing AR functions as the organization evolves
  • Other accounting duties will be assigned as necessary
