Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the resort's financial reporting while supporting daily accounting operations across multiple revenue-generating departments. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting through account reconciliations, month-end close activities, journal entries, balance sheet analysis, and financial reporting. This position partners closely with operational departments including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Spa, Golf, Retail, and Revenue Management to maintain strong financial controls and support business decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post daily, weekly, and month-end journal entries.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Analyze financial statements and investigate account variances.
  • Assist with monthly financial packages, budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
  • Reconcile credit card settlements and cash activity.
  • Review income audit reports and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support accounting for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Banquets, Spa, Golf, Retail, and Recreation.
  • Assist with sales tax reporting and internal controls.
  • Cross-train with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Hospitality or resort accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS)

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an indoor working environment and the noise level in the work place is usually low.
  • Typical equipment used include but are not limited to computers, POS systems, handheld devices, phones and household cleaning supplies.
