Job description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Human Resources Generalist responsible for a variety of key HR tasks. This role includes filing support, managing job shadowing requests, updating records, and assisting with administrative functions related to occupational health services. The position requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a cohesive HR team.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
  • Provide basic and heavy filing support.
  • Handle subpoena file copy requests and internal transfers.
  • Perform primary source verifications for licensure via California licensing agencies.
  • Manage job shadowing requests including coordinating orientation and internal scheduling.
  • Clear contract workers and update Excel files.
  • Assist with sign-on and employee referral bonus processing.
  • Create employee ID badges and process education and certification reimbursements.
  • Offer general office assistance including answering phone calls and handling walk-ins.
  • Assist with administrative and clerical support for the occupational health TB and flu clinic, including check-ins, form collection, and data entry.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
  • High school diploma.

Qualifications
  • Comfortable with heavy basic filing and administrative tasks.
  • Nice to have: College coursework or pursuing a degree in HR or Business.
  • Preferred: Entry-level HR background or healthcare HR background.
  • Ideal candidate profile: Strong administrative or entry-level HR background, highly organized, and comfortable with hands-on clerical tasks.

Schedule / Shift
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week, no expected overtime).

  • 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
