Job description

Certified Nursing Assistant (ICU) Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs tasks for patients' Activities of Daily Living to promote comfort and safety, assists the RN with the collection of patient data and performs selected procedures. Complies with established standards and procedures.
    1. Demonstrates competency with specific clinical skills and techniques that are listed in the department/unit skills list.
    2. Performs tasks for patients' Activities of Daily Living (ADL) to promote patient comfort and safety.
    3. Assists the RN with the collection of patient data such as but not limited to the following examples: Vital Signs, Patient weights, Intake & Output, Blood glucose/ urine multi-stix and Pulse Oximetry.
    4. Promptly and courteously responds to any patient call light.
    5. Consistently conducts regular rounds and observes patient activity.
    6. Performs routine patient treatment/procedures.
    7. Documents patient care tasks performed and communicates effectively to RN on delegated tasks, such as but not limited to: patient data collection, treatments and procedures, and ADL's.
    8. Promptly and clearly observes and communicates to the RN changes in the patient's condition.
    9. Patient rooms and department work areas are organized and maintained in a neat, clean and well-supplied manner.
    10. Assists patients by orienting them to the hospital routine in a sincere and helpful manner.
    11. Recognizes the occurrence of life-threatening situations and emergencies and takes the appropriate actions in a timely manner.

Certified Nursing Assistant Minimum Requirements:
  • Entry Level
  • High School or Equivalent (GED)
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Salary Range: $18.00 to $27.50/hr (based on experience)
  • Night and Evening Shift differential available
