Job description

Assembly and Engineering Technician (Entry-Level)

Company: Deploy Surveillance

Location: West Jordan, UT

Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Entry-Level

Reports To: Technical Program Manager (TPM)

About the Role

Deploy Surveillance is seeking a proactive Assembly and Engineering Technician to join our team in West Jordan. This role is the backbone of our build process, focusing on the hands-on assembly, configuration, and prototyping of our mobile security trailer fleet. If you are a "tinkerer" who loves working with your hands, solving mechanical and electrical puzzles, and playing a vital role in bringing cutting-edge technology to life, we want to talk to you.

Reporting to the Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will bridge the gap between initial design concepts and functional, field-ready mobile units powered by sophisticated solar and battery ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Integration & Build: Assemble, configure, and optimize power management systems under the guidance of the TPM, including solar charge controllers, battery balancers, and distribution plates.
  • Prototyping: Assist in testing new trailer features, prototyping hardware upgrades, and validating system performance to drive iterative product improvements.
  • Hardware Installation: Install and configure high-end IP network cameras, specialized audio systems, emergency strobe lighting, and cellular gateways.
  • Troubleshooting: Perform rapid root-cause analysis to resolve electrical and hardware failures on active trailers within the shop environment.
  • Shop Support: Collaborate with the TPM to track project milestones, document technical specs, and maintain an accurate bill of materials (BOM).

Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Hands-on Aptitude: Demonstrated experience with hands-on projects, such as electronics repair, automotive electrical work, robotics, or DIY mechanical builds.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency and comfort using power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Systems Logic: A foundational understanding of DC power systems, solar charging profiles, and the ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Problem-Solving: Experience executing systematic testing, root-cause analysis, and validation protocols on hardware and electrical systems.
  • Communication & Adaptability: Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide clear updates to the TPM, with the ability to pivot smoothly across various workshop fabrication tasks

Our Culture & Professional Values

At Deploy Surveillance, we hire for character as much as for technical skill. We are looking for a teammate who aligns with the following:

  • Work Ethic & Integrity: You take pride in the quality of your work and operate with total transparency and professional ethics.
  • The "Tinkerer" Mindset: You are naturally curious, enjoy the process of taking things apart to understand how they work, and possess a passion for building things.
  • Reliability: Our customers depend on our product for safety. We need a teammate who is dependable, meticulous, and detail-oriented.
  • Community Minded: We value a positive, supportive work environment where everyone is willing to "pitch in" to get the job done.

What We Offer

  • Competitive entry-level hourly pay and benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision).
  • Direct mentorship from an experienced Technical Program Manager and technical leadership.
  • A clear career progression path within hardware assembly, testing, and systems technology.
  • Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art surveillance, renewable energy, and IoT technology.

How to Apply

If you are ready to launch your career and make a tangible impact on world-class surveillance technology, we want to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter detailing a hands-on technical project you are proud of.
