The Associate Mechanical Engineer will support the design, development, and standard product support for products used in fluid handling systems. This individual will contribute as a key engineering team member by generating ideas, providing input, and conducting technical analyses. What You Will Do at Graco

Product Development and Engineering Tasks

  • Perform engineering tasks in developing new products and cost reduction.
  • Participate in the development of Product Specifications.
  • Produce conceptual designs and guide the development process to create practical designs using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Create detailed design drawings.
  • Identify applicable standards and conduct analysis to meet those standards.
  • Utilize engineering analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics).
  • Review instruction manuals and product literature.
  • Define and lead prototype development and lab/field tests.

Project Leadership and Team Collaboration

  • Work with manufacturing on process development.
  • Conduct design and safety reviews.
  • Participate in new product development as a member of a design team.
  • Communicate threats to schedules and participate in release-for-sale activities.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.

Product Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in standard product support activities, such as analyzing and writing Engineering Change Orders.
  • Troubleshoot product problems in manufacturing, lab, or field settings.
  • Apply and develop knowledge of Graco's operational systems, industry standards, Quality Management System, and customer applications.

Learning and Market Awareness

  • Stay current with developments in technical fields to maintain technical expertise.
  • Gain knowledge of Graco's product line and customer applications.

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
