Help People Stay Safe in the Homes They Love

TruBlue of North Central Nassau is seeking a dependable, experienced part-time Handyman with strong carpentry skills to join our growing team. We specialize in home maintenance, repairs, accessibility modifications, and aging-in-place solutions that help homeowners—especially older adults—remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.

This is more than a typical handyman position. Every day, you'll help improve the quality of life for our customers by completing projects such as grab bar installations, accessibility modifications, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, doors, flooring, shelving, deck and fence repairs, and general home maintenance. We're looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving problems, communicates professionally with homeowners, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the community.

Note: this position involves a clean driving record, reliable and working vehicle and a thorough background check.

ideal candidate:

• Has 5+ years of residential handyman or carpentry experience

• Can complete most service calls independently

• Has strong finish carpentry skills

• Owns professional tools

• Has reliable transportation

• Takes pride in clean, quality workmanship

• Is comfortable speaking with homeowners

• Can accurately explain additional repair needs

Candidates should be comfortable working as a team as well as independently after training. You should be able to manage multiple service calls throughout the day.

Typical Day - A typical day may includes:

• Installing grab bars

• Repairing a window sill

• Replacing a storm door

• Repairing and painting a drywall

• Installing shelving

• Adjusting doors

• Replacing trim

• Building a small wheelchair ramp

• Installing handrails

• Completing punch-list items

• Taking before-and-after photos

Performance Expectations

During your first 90 days you'll be expected to:

• Complete service calls independently

• Maintain excellent customer reviews

• Arrive on time and communicate professionally

• Keep callbacks to a minimum

• Submit before-and-after photos for every job

• Accurately document completed work

• Complete work in a timely manner

Company Description

General Accountabilities:
Complete residential home maintenance, repair, and improvement projects with
a focus on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
Install grab bars, railings, accessibility products, and other aging-in-place
modifications that improve home safety and independence
Perform carpentry, drywall repair, painting, door and hardware installation,
shelving, flooring repairs, and general handyman services
Assess and communicate potential home safety concerns or maintenance needs
to the office
Arrive on time, maintain a clean and organized work area, and treat every
customer's home with professionalism and respect
Take before-and-after photos and provide clear job updates as required
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and equipment while following
company safety procedures.
