Handyman / Home Repair Technician

Tri-Cities, Illinois


Pay: $25–$30/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20–25 hours per week to start

Growth: Opportunity to grow into a full-time position as our schedule expands. Higher growth options available


As You Wish Handyman Services is a growing local home repair and improvement company serving St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Campton Hills, Elgin, South Elgin, Burlington, and surrounding communities.


We're looking for a dependable, skilled Handyman / Home Repair Technician who takes pride in their work and can confidently complete common residential repair and improvement projects.


This is not an entry-level helper position. We're looking for someone who can be trusted to work independently in our clients' homes, communicate professionally, and leave every job clean and properly completed.


Work May Include

Drywall repair and patching

Interior painting and touch-ups

Minor carpentry and trim repairs

Door repairs and adjustments

Fixture replacement

Minor plumbing repairs

Flooring and tile repairs/installations

TV, shelf, artwork, and hardware installation

Furniture assembly

Home repair punch lists

General residential maintenance and repairs


What We're Looking For

-Previous handyman, construction, remodeling, or property-maintenance experience

-Reliable transportation and valid driver's license

-Ability to work independently

-Strong communication and customer-service skills

-Dependable and professional

-Attention to detail

-Respect for customers' homes and property

-Ability to properly clean the work area after every job

-Smartphone capable of using our scheduling/job-management app

-References from previous employers, customers, or professional contacts

-Photos or other examples of previous work


What Matters Most to Us

We're looking for someone our customers will feel comfortable welcoming into their homes—someone who communicates clearly, shows up when expected, takes pride in their workmanship, and does what they say they are going to do.


Schedule

This position will begin at approximately 20–25 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase hours and grow into a full-time role as the company expands.


Most work will be located throughout the Tri-Cities and surrounding Fox Valley communities.


Compensation


$25–$30/hour depending on experience and demonstrated skill.


Qualified candidates should be prepared to provide references and examples of previous work.


Final candidates may be asked to complete a paid practical skills evaluation before an employment offer is made.
