Data Center Technician I (Entry-Level)

Pay: $20/hour

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Experience Level: Entry Level

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Data Center Technician (Level 1) to join our team. This is a great opportunity for individuals with limited telecom experience who are eager to learn and build a long-term career in the structured cabling and data center industry.

The ideal candidate has experience in physically demanding environments (construction, trades, military, etc.) and demonstrates strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude. This role offers hands-on training, growth potential, and a pathway to leadership opportunities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Pull and route low-voltage cabling throughout the data center
  • Assemble, stack, and drill equipment racks
  • Scan, label, and properly document equipment (locations, ports, and part numbers) using a computer
  • Assist experienced technicians with general installation and project tasks
  • Follow safety procedures while working on ladders and lifts

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in a physically demanding role (construction, trades, warehouse, military, etc.)
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work at heights (ladders and lifts)
  • Basic computer skills for documentation

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to low-voltage cabling or electrical work
  • Cat5/Cat6 cable experience
  • Military or hands-on technical background
