Position Description

Reporting to the Director, Project Management Office/Business Intelligence (PBI), the Data Analyst’s primary responsibilities are to conduct data research, analyze internal/external data for market trends, demand information, client performance, and other insights, and design and generate reports using expert skills in Excel. The Analyst will translate data, identify trends, and make recommendations to guide strategy improvement/refinement and outcomes. To accomplish this desired outcome, this position will collect and analyze AAAHC and external source data to drive data-driven decision capabilities & initiatives. This role will also provide support for a variety of other projects requiring flexibility and ability to multitask as the projects are varied and dependent on the needs of the organization at any given time.

  • Ensure timely, accurate organization data collection/extraction and integration for designing and generation of routine and ad hoc reports. Analyze data using Excel and Power BI tool with input from team members across organization to determine trends and necessary information to guide strategy improvement/refinement and to gain business insights.
  • Create PBI, MBD, Leadership and other functional area reports related to standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards, identify and investigate variances and trends, and collaborate with business areas to understand results and determine actionable recommendations. Includes AAAHC Functional dashboard that incorporates new/lost/retained business, volume and financial implications, by market segment.
  • Research and analyze client behavioral data (e.g., transactions), demographics, segmentation, campaign response, and market basket data and transform it into meaningful insights used to drive strategy and tactics or evaluate their effectiveness. Prepare and present results to various groups within the organization in audience-relevant language including conclusions, recommendations and an orientation toward actionable results and efficient decision-making.
  • Collaborate with AAAHC Internal Team, gather and interpret data requirements, conduct analysis, and ensure data flows are efficiently managed.
  • Develop ad hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and statistics using Excel. Quarterly reports and custom data analysis as per AAAHC’s functional business needs.

Minimum Qualifications and Job-specific Competencies Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration or work equivalent in roles that demonstrate business analytic abilities
  • At least one year of work experience with demonstrated ability to manage projects, complete assignments on time, and multitask
  • Strategic, critical and creative thinker, with a good business sense and excellent analytic skills; strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand highly complex specialty products/services
  • Ability to work independently and receptive to supervision; effective team player
  • Excellent Communicator (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Proven command of analytical tools, relational databases and data modeling techniques
  • Microsoft Office advanced proficiency (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing business strategies resulting from quantitative sales and marketing analytics/data mining and presenting those results to the client/business partner
  • Experience in health care; knowledge of health care accreditation and the regulatory environment
  • Prior experience in SQL development and Power BI development a plus

Working Conditions & Travel Expectations

  • Estimated travel: <10%
  • Ability to commute to work at least 3 days per week

Physical Requirements
