We're looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Ramsey, Minnesota. In this role, you'll support approximately 300 employees in a dynamic manufacturing environment, serving as a trusted business partner to leaders and employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle.

This is an on-site position, primarily in an office environment but blending support of manufacturing employees where they are. You'll spend time partnering directly with employees and leaders throughout the facility, making visibility and relationship-building an important part of the role. Eye and hearing protection is required in designated production areas.

As our HR Generalist at Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, you will:

As a Human Resources Generalist, you'll partner with leaders across the organization while providing hands-on HR support to employees at all levels.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for both hourly manufacturing positions.
  • Source, screen, interview, and coordinate hiring activities through Workday.
  • Extend offers and oversee a seamless onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with temporary staffing partners to support production staffing needs.
  • Manage the temporary workforce and partner with staffing agencies to address performance and employee relations concerns.
  • Facilitate engaging new hire orientation sessions and continuously improve the onboarding experience.

Employee Relations & HR Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leaders on HR policies, benefits, payroll, performance management, and workplace concerns.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues with professionalism, consistency, and confidentiality.
  • Actively participate in employee engagement committee and activities.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on employee performance, communication, and best HR practices.
  • Partner with leadership to foster an inclusive, respectful, and engaging workplace culture.

HR Operations

  • Administer payroll and benefits plans.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions and HR documentation.
  • Stay current on employment laws, HR best practices, and workforce trends.
  • Provide backup support to the Senior HR Generalist and assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

What Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is looking for in our HR Generalist:

We're seeking someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution and is energized by supporting employees in a manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience recruiting for hourly manufacturing and/or entry-level positions.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience with Workday and Kronos/UKG (or similar HRIS and timekeeping systems).
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR).

The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $62,300 - $86,000 annually.The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Ramsey, MN and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
