Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Retail E-Commerce Specialist to oversee the daily operations, optimization, and growth of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk's retail online store. The ideal candidate has a strong background in e-commerce management, digital content creation, product merchandising, inventory control, and user experience optimization.
Job Tasks
E-commerce Website Management
  • Oversee daily operations of the site to ensure site stability and create a great guest shopping experience.

  • Manage all updates, including product launches, promotions, banners, and content refreshes in coordination with Marketing.

  • Manage all guest communications including automated email sequences and phone calls upholding elite guest service experience.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Creative Team, Tech Services, and Retail Operations to implement catalog structure, new enhancements, and new features.

  • Coordinate with Marketing team to ensure compliance with accessibility, privacy, and security standards.

Content Creation & Merchandising
  • Create and adhere to product photo standards.

  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies to maximize product visibility, conversion rates, and average order value.

  • Manage content database with all photo and video content on company servers.

  • Photograph products, write compelling product descriptions, and ensure listings are optimized for SEO and user clarity.

  • Create photo content in studio, on mannequins, and lifestyle imagery on location.

  • Source and include product information from vendors and manufacturers in product descriptions.

Inventory Control
  • Monitor and maintain inventory onhand levels for e-commerce merchandise including full size runs populating the online menu.

  • Use digital transfer devices to ensure all inventory transfers are accurate, maintaining mirrored physical and digital onhand quantities.

  • Coordinate with Retail Warehouse Supervisor and Inventory Specialist to conduct periodic cycle counts.

  • Create and operate processes to pull e-commerce inventory for new arrival orders.

  • Manage returns and restocking processes in inventory control database.Shape

Shipping
  • Manage shipping materials and shipping vendor.

  • Pick, fulfill, ship all orders from E-commerce warehouse.

  • Ensure all orders are processed and shipped within 36-hour standard communicating with guests.

Reporting
  • Monitor KPIs including traffic, conversion rate, ATV, revenue, engagement, and customer behavior patterns.

  • Prepare ongoing reports and dashboards to track e-commerce performance and present actionable insights.

  • Identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities to inform strategy and improve business results.

Qualifications: Training and Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in e-commerce, or mobile app operations (retail or related industries preferred).

  • Proven track record of driving e-commerce revenue growth and improving site performance.

  • Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify.

  • Strong understanding of SEO and visual merchandising.

  • Ability to write clear, engaging, SEO-optimized product descriptions and on-site content.

  • Ability to collaborate with marketing on campaigns.

  • Experience in inventory control management.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

  • Able to work in variable temperatures (office setting, warehouse, back of house spaces, and on the Boardwalk).
