Systems Administrator I
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Job Type: Long-Term Contract
Work Setting: Onsite
Position Overview
We are hiring a Systems Administrator I for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a large-scale airport technology environment. This role provides hands-on support for enterprise systems and infrastructure, handling Level 1/2 service requests while assisting senior administrators with the operation and maintenance of servers, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, cloud services, storage systems, and backup environments.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to Level 1/2 service requests, including user account issues, system access problems, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Assist with the administration of Windows and Linux servers, including updates and basic configuration tasks.
  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of VMware environments, virtual machines, and related resources.
  • Perform Active Directory administration tasks, including account creation, password resets, and group membership updates.
  • Assist with Azure and other cloud-based services following established procedures.
  • Support storage management, backup operations, and recovery processes under the guidance of senior administrators.
  • Execute routine maintenance activities, patching, and system health checks.
  • Document work performed, maintain inventory records, and ensure accurate service documentation.
  • Assist with system deployments, hardware installations, and lifecycle refresh activities.
  • Support senior administrators during upgrades, migrations, and incident response efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting IT systems, servers, or enterprise applications.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Linux fundamentals, and virtualization concepts.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, user account administration, and identity management fundamentals.
  • Experience providing Level 1/2 technical support and working within ticketing systems.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and appropriately escalate issues when needed.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals are preferred.
