Position OverviewWe are hiring a Systems Administrator I for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a large-scale airport technology environment. This role provides hands-on support for enterprise systems and infrastructure, handling Level 1/2 service requests while assisting senior administrators with the operation and maintenance of servers, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, cloud services, storage systems, and backup environments.
Responsibilities- Respond to Level 1/2 service requests, including user account issues, system access problems, and basic troubleshooting.
- Assist with the administration of Windows and Linux servers, including updates and basic configuration tasks.
- Support the monitoring and maintenance of VMware environments, virtual machines, and related resources.
- Perform Active Directory administration tasks, including account creation, password resets, and group membership updates.
- Assist with Azure and other cloud-based services following established procedures.
- Support storage management, backup operations, and recovery processes under the guidance of senior administrators.
- Execute routine maintenance activities, patching, and system health checks.
- Document work performed, maintain inventory records, and ensure accurate service documentation.
- Assist with system deployments, hardware installations, and lifecycle refresh activities.
- Support senior administrators during upgrades, migrations, and incident response efforts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements- 1-3 years of experience supporting IT systems, servers, or enterprise applications.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Linux fundamentals, and virtualization concepts.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, user account administration, and identity management fundamentals.
- Experience providing Level 1/2 technical support and working within ticketing systems.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and appropriately escalate issues when needed.
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals are preferred.
