Job description

PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION IS AN IN-OFFICE POSITION IN MANHATTAN

Before Applying

This role expects prior hands-on experience administering Active Directory, cloud, and network environments — generally 3+ years in a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or senior technician capacity. This is not an entry-level or Level 1 support role.

Company Description

We are a Managed Service Provider (MSP) specializing in IT, Telecom, Cabling, and Audio Visual services, with offices in New York City, South Florida, and Houston, Texas. We deliver comprehensive technology solutions to small and mid-sized businesses, and we take pride in offering hands-on training and real growth paths — team members often move into management or assistant management roles within about 18 months.

Job Description

The Infrastructure & Systems Administrator owns the design, deployment, and ongoing administration of client Active Directory, cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), and network environments. This is a project- and ownership-driven role, not a ticket queue: the administrator will lead infrastructure projects and migrations from planning through execution, set standards other technicians follow, and serve as the escalation point for complex issues. The role also includes emergency/incident response outside business hours on a rare, as-needed basis (e.g., major outages, security incidents) — this is not a routine on-call rotation. Strong project management, documentation, and client-facing communication skills are required.

Hours

Full time, in-office 5 days a week.

•       Monday – Thursday: 9am – 6pm

•       Friday: 9am – 5pm

Compensation

•       $60,000–$90,000/year starting salary (varies by skill level)

•       $50/month mobile phone reimbursement

•       401K with match after 1 year

•       Unlimited metro card for travel to/from customer sites

Interviews

Conducted over Zoom. Please have professional references available.

Responsibilities

•       Design, deploy, and administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity infrastructure across client environments

•       Administer cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) including provisioning, cost optimization, and performance monitoring

•       Own network administration: DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routers, switches, and network monitoring/optimization

•       Administer Windows/Linux servers; own patch management and update strategy

•       Lead infrastructure and cloud migration projects from planning through execution

•       Design, implement, and test backup and disaster recovery solutions

•       Own security posture for assigned environments: monitor alerts, apply patches, lead vulnerability remediation

•       Serve as the escalation point for complex issues from Level 1/2 technicians

•       Document infrastructure, standard operating procedures, and project runbooks

•       Develop scripts and automation for infrastructure provisioning and routine administration

•       Standardize server/network builds during new client onboarding

•       Administer M365 environments/infrastructure

•       Communicate project status and technical issues clearly to clients

•       Provide emergency/incident response outside business hours on a rare, as-needed basis (e.g., major outages, security incidents)
