Job description

Small immigration law firm looking for another associate to join its growing team. Associate will be expected to appear throughout courts in the Los Angeles and Orange Counties handling complex immigration legal matters including family-based immigration, deportation defense, and asylum cases.


This role involves representing clients across various courts such as administrative hearings, immigration courts, appellate courts, federal courts, and state courts. Frequent regional travel is required to attend client meetings and court appearances, ensuring thorough advocacy and comprehensive case management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough legal research relevant to immigration laws and precedents
  • Manage case files efficiently from intake through resolution
  • Prepare meticulous documentation and legal filings for immigration cases
  • Represent clients effectively in administrative, immigration, appellate, federal, and state courts
  • Draft clear and persuasive legal documents and correspondence
  • Advocate passionately on behalf of clients during hearings and consultations
  • Travel regionally to meet clients and attend court proceedings

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry-level experience in immigration law
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management
  • Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
