Job description

Huntington University has an opening for an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy for the Doctoral Program at the Peoria, Arizona location.

Faculty members of the occupational therapy program provide structured learning and laboratory experiences for students in compliance with ACOTE 2023 Standards. Faculty aligns teaching with university and department mission statements, strategic plan, curricular philosophy, design, and level of expertise. Faculty administer evaluations of the students, supports learning with application in areas of fieldwork, research, and experiential component. Faculty provide ongoing program evaluation and professional development for continued success of the academic program.

The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) searches and secures memorandum of understanding (MOU) contracts for fieldwork I and II placements for individual doctor of occupational therapy students. The AFWC is responsible for accreditation standards, administrative management of (MOU) contracts, site evaluations, student on-site requirements, accreditation compliance, program evaluation, and other administrative duties as deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full-time faculty with an earned occupational therapy entry level degree and earned doctorate awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional accreditation body or via ACOTE external review from institutions outside of the United States
  • Current occupational therapist license in Arizona
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist
  • Strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ
  • Commitment to stewardship of University resource and strong desire to serve others
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in oral, written, and computer communications
  • High level of computer literacy required
  • Training and knowledge of office procedures, computer hardware and software (Microsoft Office)
  • High level of organizational ability and attention to detail for electronic and paper documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to track and maintain large volume of dated memorandums of understanding
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Maintain AOTA Code of Ethics
  • Willingness to learn new computerized system management databases
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, the University community and clinical agencies
  • Competent in research and database searches
  • Flexibility to attend occasional after-hours program and university events
