Job Description

About the Opportunity

Eurofins Electrical and Electronics is growing its Aerospace, Defense, and Military testing vertical and is looking for a sharp, motivated individual to join the team as a Defense and Aerospace Market Intelligence and Sales Associate. This is an entry level role with a real growth ceiling for the right person.

This is not a standard inside sales job. You will be the intelligence engine behind our defense sales team - monitoring federal procurement activity, tracking defense programs, identifying upcoming testing opportunities, and making sure our Business Development Manager and Aerospace and Defense Sales Engineer walk into every customer conversation fully informed and ready to win.

You will also handle the traditional inside sales functions that keep the pipeline moving - quoting, CRM management, customer follow-up, and onsite customer support. But the defense market research component is what makes this role different and what will set you apart if you want to grow in this industry.

This role is based in Baltimore and sits inside our lab - the same building where defense customers come for witness testing and where our growing team of Principal Engineers and technical sales professionals operate every day.

What You Will Do

Defense Market Intelligence

  • Monitor SAM.gov, USASpending.gov, and related federal procurement databases daily to identify defense contracts, solicitations, and program awards relevant to EMC, environmental, reliability, and wireless testing
  • Track upcoming defense program testing requirements and alert the sales team to new opportunities before they hit the open market
  • Research prime contractors, Tier 1 suppliers, and government program offices in the Mid-Atlantic defense corridor to support account targeting and outreach strategies
  • Maintain a running intelligence database of defense programs, key contacts, contract vehicles, and procurement timelines to support sales planning
  • Monitor industry news, defense budget announcements, and program developments that may create testing demand

Sales Support

  • Support the Business Development Manager and Aerospace and Defense Sales Engineer with quote preparation, proposal coordination, and customer follow-up
  • Manage inbound inquiries from defense and aerospace customers - route, respond, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Maintain and update CRM database with accurate customer information, opportunity notes, and activity records
  • Coordinate customer onsite visits including witness testing events - act as a professional first point of contact for lab visitors
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and completed projects to gather customer feedback and identify next opportunities
  • Support re-engagement of passive accounts through outbound calling and email outreach as directed by the sales team

Administrative and Team Support

  • Process new account and vendor setup, new project intake, and RFQ documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Support interdepartmental coordination between sales, project coordination, and lab operations teams
  • Assist with preparation of materials for customer presentations, trade show participation, and industry events
  • Provide general administrative support to the regional sales and operations team as needed
Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Required:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) - required for ITAR and CMMC compliance; this requirement cannot be waived
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Strong research and analytical skills - comfortable digging into government databases, procurement records, and program documentation to find actionable intelligence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you will be interacting with defense customers, prime contractor personnel, and internal leadership
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail - this role requires managing multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

Strongly Preferred:

  • Familiarity with SAM.gov, USASpending.gov, FPDS, or other federal procurement and contracting databases
  • Prior exposure to defense contracting, government procurement, or the federal acquisition process through coursework, internship, or work experience
  • Interest in the aerospace, defense, or testing and inspection industry and a desire to build a career in this space
  • Prior inside sales, customer service, or research experience in a technical or government-adjacent environment
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics

Why This Role

  • A genuine entry point into the aerospace and defense industry with a clear path to grow into sales, business development, or program management
  • You will work directly alongside experienced defense sales professionals and learn the market from people who know it
  • Direct exposure to a growing defense testing vertical at a company with the infrastructure, accreditations, and coast-to-coast network to compete for major programs
  • Baltimore puts you inside one of the densest defense and intelligence corridors in the country - Aberdeen Proving Ground, NSA, Naval Academy, Patuxent River, and a deep prime contractor base within driving distance
  • Competitive base salary, full benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, and paid holidays

Additional Information

Compensation:

  • $55,000 salary

Schedule:

  • M-F 8:30am-5pm

What we offer:

  • Excellent full time benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, dental, and vision options
  • Life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and holidays
