Job description

The IT Program Manager leads the technology strategy and execution for the client's new hospital construction. This role directs the infrastructure, applications (specifically with Epic), and cybersecurity workstreams to ensure the facility is technically and operationally ready for opening. You will align IT delivery with construction, facilities, and clinical operations.

Contract: 6 - 12months Contract to Full Time Hire

Location: Must be able to work on-site in San Francisco 3 to 4 times per week

Project Duration: Through 2031

Pay: $90-100/hour on W2 depending on experience

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage the combined scope, schedule, and budget for all IT workstreams including Epic and clinical module integration.
  • Identify and mitigate program-level risks and dependencies; lead executive-level escalation processes EHR-related hardware and software roadblocks.
  • Track capital budgets, cash flow, and variances; forecast future operating costs Epic licensing and post-live support staffing.
  • Provide progress reporting and decision support to executive leadership technical dress rehearsals (TDR) and clinical cutover plans.
  • Oversee the creation of technical "run books" to ensure a smooth transition from project teams to permanent Epic maintenance and clinical informatics operations.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Expert knowledge of PM principles and project tracking metrics.
  • Direct experience managing Epic EHR implementations within a large-scale healthcare environment (preferably new builds/greenfield projects).
  • Proven ability to lead matrixed teams across IT, Facilities, and Clinical domains.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority and present to executive management.
  • Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills (Epic Systems and third-party integrated partners).
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate obstacles and plan contingencies in complex environments.
  • Epic Certification or Proficiency in one or more modules (e.g., Epic Clinical Content, Willow, or Bridges) is highly preferred.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or Healthcare (Master's preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) Certification.
  • Preferred Knowledge of California HCAI requirements, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, or Healthcare Construction (HCC/CHC).
