Locums - Ketchikan, Alaska | Hematology/Oncology Opportunity

Clinical Role

Join an established Hematology/Oncology service in Ketchikan, Alaska, providing outpatient coverage as part of a remote inbox support model. This 0.25 FTE locums opportunity is available due to a gap in coverage and is approved through March 30, 2027. The provider will work independently and will provide coverage approximately 5 days per month.

Schedule:

  • 5 days per month
  • Standard 8-hour day
  • 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • 1-hour lunch break
  • Remote inbox coverage

Coverage Requirements:

  • Hematology/Oncology outpatient coverage
  • Remote inbox coverage
  • Hospital and clinic privileges required
  • Bone marrow biopsies
  • Adult and geriatric patient care
  • Independent/solo practice

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Hospital and Clinic

Patient Population:

Adults and geriatric patients

Patient Volume:

Approximately 12–16 patients per day

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide outpatient Hematology/Oncology care
  • Manage adult and geriatric patients
  • Provide remote inbox coverage
  • Review and respond to patient and clinical messages
  • Evaluate Hematology/Oncology concerns
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies
  • Coordinate patient care with the clinical team
  • Provide independent coverage during assigned shifts

Required Procedure:

  • Bone marrow biopsy

Call

No call required.

Practice Model

The provider will work independently in a solo coverage model.

Requirements

  • Board Certified Hematology/Oncology – Required
  • Active Alaska Medical License – Required
  • Alaska DEA – Required
  • BLS, ACLS, or PALS – Required
  • Ability to provide independent Hematology/Oncology care

Credentialing

Hospital and clinic privileges are required. The hospital and clinic are located within the same building.
