Bilingual Construction Recruiter – Build the Skilled Workforce Powering Northern Virginia’s Infrastructure

Job Overview

  • Company: Benchmark Utility Services.
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $75,000 - $95,000 DOE (Exempt).
  • Location: Richmond - Northern Virginia Corridor (Field/Office Hybrid – Frequent regional travel).
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Bilingual English/Spanish Fluency; Valid Driver’s License.

The Opportunity You will serve as the primary architect of our field workforce, sourcing the skilled tradespeople who drive our mission-critical utility projects. This is a field-forward role where you will build authentic relationships at project sites, trade schools, and within local communities to fuel our extreme growth. Your ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish will make you a vital bridge between talent and opportunity in a limitless industry.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Execute proactive, field-based sourcing by visiting active project sites to identify internal talent and referral leads.
  • Cultivate deep relationships with Spanish-speaking craft workers and field supervisors within the Northern Virginia labor market.
  • Partner with trade schools, vocational programs, and community organizations to build a sustainable pipeline of entry-level and skilled talent.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of full life cycle recruiting experience focusing on construction skilled trades or field labor.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting on the road and in the field, without relying solely on passive applicants from job postings.
  • Native-level or professional bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Proven track record of high-volume recruiting and managing fast-turnaround requisitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with candidates outside of traditional digital job boards.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and a commitment to real-time data integrity.
  • Reliable personal transportation for daily travel to project sites and community events throughout the region.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior recruiting experience specifically within utilities or heavy civil industries.
  • Personal background or deep-rooted connections within the skilled trades community.
  • Familiarity with I-9 compliance, E-Verify, and prevailing wage hiring requirements.
