ABOUT WOMEN'S HOUSING NAVIGATION
The shelter offers a safe and welcoming environment to women experiencing homelessness in Albuquerque. The center is open year-round and offers meals, a warm overnight bed, and secure under-bed storage. The shelter provides low barrier, trauma-informed case management, job searching and other supportive services. The team works to guide guests through a successful exit from shelter to safe, stable housing, and a plan for ongoing support.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
You are going to provide leadership and support to the Housing Support Specialist team at Women’s Housing Navigation shelter. Your support will ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, client-centered housing support services, including Rapid Rehousing and Transitional Housing programs. You will be the lead, coordinating day-to-day operations, assisting with complex cases, fostering team development, and overseeing some administrative functions such as reporting, compliance tracking, proper documentation, and communication with leadership.

You are integral to ensuring the shelter environment remains safe, trauma-informed, and client-centered. Alongside your team, you'll mentor and empower clients to advocate for their needs and rights. You'll even get to travel into the community, linking clients to community resources and nurturing partnerships with community partners and landlords.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be CPSW through a recognized program, such as the New Mexico Certified Peer Support Worker training program
    • Lived Experience: CPSW will have a personal history of overcoming mental health or substance use challenges
  • Previous experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a supportive housing setting is highly desirable
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and client management software
