Overview
Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an Information Technology Specialist Level 2 to support mission-critical IT systems and infrastructure within a secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This role supports secure enterprise technologies, network infrastructure, and operational IT systems essential to mission success.
The selected candidate will assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and sustainment of enterprise hardware, software, servers, and network infrastructure across physical and virtual environments. The ideal candidate is a proactive technical professional capable of troubleshooting complex issues, supporting end users, and maintaining secure and reliable IT operations in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities include supporting Windows and Linux operating systems, VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms, and enterprise Microsoft services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, SQL Server, and Azure. Additional duties include system monitoring, cybersecurity compliance support, backup and recovery operations, CAC authentication support, and troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and peripheral systems.
The position also supports LAN connectivity, network cabling, switches, routers, printers, telephones, UPS systems, and Video Teleconference (VTC) systems, as well as IT equipment installation, relocation, accountability, sanitization, and disposal activities in accordance with DoD security policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The Information Technology Specialist will:
  • Support IT systems, technical programs, projects, and operational tasks requiring advanced technical oversight and coordination
  • Perform day-to-day IT operations to ensure system availability, performance, reliability, and compliance
  • Coordinate with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to ensure system requirements and project milestones are achieved
  • Maintain and administer networked and standalone servers, workstations, user accounts, network access, security monitoring systems, and system documentation
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, network, and system anomalies to maintain operational effectiveness
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend system enhancements, emerging technologies, and IT solutions to improve mission performance
  • Administer and support virtualized environments and enterprise services supporting mission operations
  • Provide end-user and client technical support, including account provisioning, modification, and deactivation activities
  • Identify Automated Information System (AIS) vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security countermeasures and remediation actions
  • Ensure AIS and network infrastructure are operated, maintained, sanitized, and disposed of in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures
  • Support Video Teleconference (VTC) systems, including scheduling, configuration, troubleshooting, and administration as required

Requirements
Skills and Experience
The Information Technology Specialist must have:
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) access
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant Department of Defense (DoD) IT systems and operations experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting SAP and/or SCI environments within the past five (5) years
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise IT systems within secure, mission-critical environments
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities across complex IT environments
  • Experience supporting servers, workstations, virtualization platforms, network infrastructure, and enterprise services
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to leadership, customers, and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to prioritize workloads, manage competing tasks, and operate independently with minimal supervision

Education and Certifications
The Information Technology Specialist must meet the following:

  • Bachelor' degre in computer science, Information Technology (IT), or related discipline

Security Clearance
