Job description

Turner's Outdoorsman is seeking a Gun Desk Clerk II to join the compliance team. The Gun Desk Clerk II is responsible for advanced compliance support functions related to firearm transactions, documentation review, and audit readiness. This role serves as a resource to store locations and assists in maintaining company-wide compliance standards and regulatory accuracy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all Gun Desk Clerk I responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed reviews of firearm transaction records and compliance documentation
  • Research and resolve documentation discrepancies and reporting issues
  • Support internal firearm audits and compliance investigations
  • Assist with compliance reporting and departmental tracking metrics
  • Serve as a point of contact for store-level compliance questions
  • Train and support entry-level compliance clerks on procedures and documentation standards
  • Maintain knowledge of ATF, California DOJ, and company compliance requirements
  • Assist with updating compliance procedures and departmental documentation
  • Support department workflow prioritization during high-volume periods

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of administrative, compliance, or firearm industry experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of firearm documentation and compliance processes preferred
  • Advanced attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
