As a Senior Safety Professional, you will be an important resource. You will drive the identification, assessment, analysis, and solving of a broad spectrum of safety issues across a diverse group of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts businesses.

The Senior Safety Professional will report to a Safety Manager.

What You Will Do

On any given day, as a Senior Safety Professional, you might:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Drive the implementation of safety initiatives, performing job task analysis, analyzing injury and illness trend data, and finding opportunities to improve safety performance
  • Lead and/or participate in incident investigations and follow-ups
  • Improve performance, review source material (rules, codes, laws, and standards) identify and share industry practices
  • Lead efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risks while supporting standardized safety practices, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure implementation of applicable safety standards and established regulations
  • Manage relationships and work as part of a team within a matrix environment with all levels of leadership and employees
  • Engage and collaborate with local partners to drive and ensure consistency
  • Participate in industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments
  • Deploy analytics and trends to improve safety

Required Qualifications & Skills

Here's what you need to be successful at this job:

  • 5+ years of project management experience within occupational safety, risk management, or a related environment
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards
  • Experience with strategic thinking, prioritization, and initiation of tasks
  • Experience with proper writing, speaking, and presenting to all levels
  • Resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Occupational Health or related field

Preferred Education

  • Master's Degree in related field

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $105,000 - $140,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
